At nearly 2 meters tall these sculptural sails were designed to twist and twirl creating a sea of movement across the window.
The frame of each sail was pressed from 10mm tubular steel then wrapped in bespoke fabric pockets. HATCH sampled many fabrics to find the perfect material that was a flat white and had just enough stretch to keep the sail surface taught without edging into shiny or synthetic finishes that could pucker.
The sails were suspended using specially sourced carabiners, eyelets, loop clamps and wall mounted hooks all in matt white, with a scheme so minimal the detailing is crucial to the success of the look.
Huge industrial fans were painted matt white and ran in succession to set the sails dancing.
